The Quarry House: Friends and Family Fun
LHR is everything we hoped it would be and sooo much more…clean, comfy, restful, rejuvenating and oh so magical! Acadia was fun with much to see–LHR was a great place to just BE! The boys loved the canoe, the fishing, swimming, biking and especially getting to help Dave cut a piece of granite–that was great! Thank you for sharing this truly lovely place with us–your hospitality made our vacation unforgettable. We’ll be back. Oh, can’t forget to mention the nighttime sauna/swim and the campfire!!!And the sunsets, the porcupine, the gazebo…Deb & Joe McGrannahan
- Accommodates 6
- 3 bedrooms: 2 Queen, 2 Full, 3 twins
- Piano Room/sun room
- Great Room w/wood stove and large dining area
- 1 1/2 baths
- Washing Machine & Clothes line
- Location: Overlooking gardens on the main quarry with large lawn, gazebo and shallow entry into the water.
- Recommended for families, group of friends, workshops. Very comfortable with room to spread out. More of a rustic, camp feel than our other two cottages. Open June to mid November, earlier for workshops or day long retreats for area groups.
From the bottom of our hearts we thank you both for sharing LHR. Our steps to retreating are:
- Being centrally located without being in the middle of it all.
- Hiking trails–be it rock scrambling, Cadillac Mountain or Bragdon Quarry.
- Eating sweet cherry tomatoes and Blueberry Bread. What a warm and wonderful welcome!
- Cooking lobsters and eating fresh blueberries–oh the taste of Maine!
- catching fish in the quarry. They knew the routine better than we did.
- Photographing in the “magic light”. I don’t know who coined the term, but I wouldn’t be surprised to learn they were a guest here.
- Cutting stone with David and being the first person to ever see the inside of that particular piece of granite.
- Toasting marshmallows. Watching for shooting stars. Singing songs–enjoying a cool evening by the campfire.
- Canoeing, canoeing and more canoeing. Blisters didn’t slow the boys down at all.
- Leaving with Light Hearts!
May peace and joy be with you always~ Don, Amy John & Scott, VA
